Thermal conductivity and air tightness of the building fabric has a major impact on thermal performance. We coordinate closely with our consultant team to balance percentage openings with good daylighting and fabric U ® values. Optimum floor to floor heights, passive stacks, adequate window shape, glazing performance and night-purge/trickle vent systems are employed to extend any naturally ventilated period in a mixed-mode building. Relative overshadowing of façade areas inform the variation in performance and shape of glazing and shading systems. Designs are fine-tuned through thermal and daylight analysis. Air tightness tests are recommended as soon as the sealed envelope is constructed and once again prior to completion.
