Through the global reach of Aedas the sustainability group has worked to design standards world-wide. In-house certified assessors support design teams in each region and can offer consultancy in BREEAM or LEED. Aedas has completed over a dozen BREEAM-rated buildings in the UK varying between Very Good and Excellent. There are currently over 30 projects under development in the practice, all exceeding BREEAM Very Good, including the Dublin HQ for the Electricity Supply Board which is being designed to meet BREEAM Outstanding.

Globally LEED has become a dominant assessment tool and Aedas Hong Kong has just launched a training programme for over 40 architects to become LEED assessors. Aedas is working on a number of projects in Middle East that are subject to Estidama evaluation. Our sustainability team has followed closely the development of what is becoming one of the most ambitious sustainable design standards in the world. Masdar MIST Neighbourhood and the Abu Dhabi Investment Council Headquarters are just two Aedas projects on site that incorporate outstanding sustainable design criteria that go beyond the requirements of current design standards. Aedas’ familiarity with local supply chains and the regulatory framework has led to the innovative application of materials, products and technologies to achieve the lowest possible environmental footprint of buildings.
