Bespoke design tools developed by Aedas R&D as well as existing software applications support the evaluation of massing solutions that make the most of climatic and microclimatic opportunities. The benefits of passive design measures are evaluated in terms of their contribution to the overall energy profile of a building. Passive design features are essential and cost-effective contributors to low-carbon operation and can contribute to the architectural expression of a building.
