An application was developed for a competition to design a new headquarters building for the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC). The brief included office space, exhibition space and a large auditorium.

The interactive design tool developed by the Computational Design and Research team allowed the architectural team, and the client, to easily test and evaluate a number of different programmatic scenarios. Areas are loaded from the accommodation schedule, and these try to arrange themselves automatically according to an adjacency matrix. It is possible to also pull the boxes around manually to obtain good solutions to the layout.
