ENK Complex, Pristina

View for

The ENK Complex in Pristina, Kosovo, was designed by the 4M Group in London and represents Pristina’s largest mixed use development.

Aedas Computational Design and Research group was commissioned to carry out an urban structure analysis and eventually to design a holistic cladding package. The cladding concept is based on parallel adaptation of cellular machines like Cellular Automata. The panels respond to various conditions like light, distance to neighbouring buildings, internal function, adjacent panel types and height. By communicating these conditions amongst the panels, a consensus is reached that fulfils all performance criteria across all buildings.
